Marques de Murrieta’s foundation is linked to the origins of Rioja wines. Since 1852 it was classified as the first Rioja and they established their “Chateau” in the Ygay Estate where the castle still stands to this day. Since then the winery has become a true icon of Spanish wines globally and produces exceptional reds and whites including an Albarino from Rias Biaxas. Currently the 11th Count of Creixell, Vicente D, Cebrián-Sagarriga and his family, oversee this historic property just outside of Logroño.
